So many things about Innovation Leader can be attributed to the realities of “post-print” publishing.
A print magazine was not part of the founder’s early plan. But over time, it was demanded by IL’s web members. They wanted a more lasting and portable alternative platform for the content — information they could consume at a more leisurely pace.
Print turned out to be the answer.
The magazine is flourishing without the benefit — for now — of a newsstand presence. It’s also not dependent on being chock-full of ad pages. It gets its support from members of IL. We like this publishing model. Hopefully more smart, forward-thinking publishers will make it work for them, too.
