The Civil War Monitor, Fall 2017; And a Word on Charlottesville
The Fall 2017 issue of The Civil War Monitor hit the newsstand just days before the “Unite the Right” rally of white nationalists and other right-wing groups that erupted into violence and lead to the death of a young woman in Charlottesville, Virginia.
During a phone call with my client, editor and founder Terry Johnston, we discussed the unfortunate coincidence of Robert E. Lee’s presence on the cover at such a difficult time. His response (below), which was first posted on the magazine’s Facebook page, was perfect.
