I Want My M(inimalist)TV!
We recently stumbled upon a cool new music channel on YouTube called Colors.
According to its About page, “Colors is a unique aesthetic music platform showcasing exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on promoting the most distinctive new artists and original sounds. In the context of an increasingly fragmented and saturated scene we seek to provide clarity and calm, offering a minimalistic stage to shine a spotlight on the artists and give them the opportunity to present their music without distraction.”
Whatever. It works.
The Berlin-based channel (shown below) features mostly new-ish artists performing on the most beautifully minimal of sets: three walls, a floor, and a ceiling, all painted in a single color. Oh, and a microphone. No extras here.
And with all of the extraneous stuff out of the way, your focus turns completely to the artist and the music. Wouldn’t it be great if the entire internet was like that?
